The Handicapped Care and Rehabilitation Fund held a consultative meeting today, Tuesday, with the Ministry of Finance at the Fund’s headquarters in the capital, Sana'a, to discuss the financial conditions of the fund, including the previous obligations of the fund to the associations, centers and branches raised with the Ministry of Finance.

In the meeting, the Minister of Finance, Sharaf Al-Kahlani, affirmed that the Ministry gives the people with disabilities a wholehearted attention and care, noting that it preferred to go down and listen personally to all concerns of persons with disabilities in all their categories.

And "Al-Kahalani" pointed out that the previous negative accumulations and the lack of vision and plans determining the course of the exchange operations have made the ministry slow down in spending.

The Minister of Finance also touched on the importance of bridging the gap between the Fund and the Ministry of Finance and ensuring that accurate reports, studies and statistics are prepared with the needs and requirements that people with disabilities need to be approved in the annual spending plans, calling on associations and centers to submit complete documents so that the ministry can play its role and fulfill its obligations towards the disabled.

The Minister of Finance directed that the first batch of obligations be paid after the initial disbursement documents were met.

For his part, the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Chairman of the Fund’s Board of Directors Obaid Salem Bin Dabea ’, stressed that the recent financial and administrative reforms that the Fund had witnessed had a great role in achieving quality in the Fund’s services.

The Minister, Bin Dabea ', valued the efforts of the Minister of Finance for his interest, follow-up and understanding of the development of the Disabled Fund and the services it provides to the beneficiary category of the fund, indicating that the Disabled Fund's funds are like endowment funds and everyone is responsible for them, stressing that a spending plan has been prepared for the Fund for the year 2020 in which all aspects were taken into account Related to services for people with disabilities.

For his part, Director of the Fund for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Disabled, Dr. Ali Nasser Mughali, expressed the readiness of the fund to provide everything that it can for persons with disabilities, according to its available capabilities and in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance.

The meeting was attended by Brother Mansour Al-Fayadhi, the Executive Director of the Social Welfare Fund, the Deputy Executive Director, Mr. Othman Al-Salwi, the directors of the various departments of the Disabled Fund and a number of representatives of persons with disabilities.
