The Prime Minister visits the Fund for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Disabled and meets with leaders of associations, federations and centers at the Fund’s headquarters

Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor today visited the Disabled Welfare and Rehabilitation Fund and met today with the President of the National Federation of Disabled Associations and Heads of Disabled Care and Rehabilitation Associations and Centers, in the presence of the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Obaid bin Dabaa, the Deputy Minister of Works Eng. Muhammad Al-Dhari, and the Executive Director of the Disabled Welfare and Rehabilitation Fund, Dr. Ali Nasser Mughali and his deputy, Othman Al-Selwi Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor said that the physically challenged is one of the social strata that should be dealt with responsibly and work to meet their needs, integrate them into society and take advantage of the advantages that God endowed. He emphasized that intellectual disability is a bigger problem than physical disability. He added, "We, as a government, have responsibilities towards the disabled segment and towards the fund through the minister, the executive director and his deputy, to deal with the relevant state agencies to intensify their care and cooperation efforts." He pointed to the exceptional circumstance that the country is going through as a result of six years of aggression and siege, and the repercussions and effects that affected all segments of society and multiplied on people with disabilities ... He noted the gains achieved by this segment during the past period and the importance of working to continue its integration into society by various available means. The Prime Minister hailed the pioneering role played by the Physically Handicapped Union in representing the interests of all associations and centers for the care and rehabilitation of the physically disabled and its growing activity, explaining that caring for this segment is a national, humanitarian and moral responsibility. He pointed out that the real terrorist is the one who sends his planes, missiles, mercenaries and agents to kill citizens or cause amputations to break the will of the Yemeni people, stressing that resistance is the way to preserve dignity and break the invading aggressors and their followers. The Minister of Social Affairs and Labor had delivered a speech in which he indicated that the Salvation Government understands the nature of the problems that the federation, associations and centers face during this period and is keen to address or reduce them .. explaining that everyone in the ministry and the fund are doing their best to provide a decent service for this segment. He emphasized that people with special needs should be provided with all educational, health and sports services to facilitate their integration into society, as well as enable them to enjoy their rights guaranteed by the constitution and the laws in force. The President of the Federation of Handicapped Associations and a number of heads of associations and centers for the care and rehabilitation of the handicapped talked about the basic and operational requirements and needs that should be met in order for these institutions to continue their tasks and duties within reasonable limits. They emphasized the need to pay attention to the issue of psychological support for the disabled segment, which represents an urgent necessity, especially in light of the continuing aggression and siege and the establishment of branches for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Disabled Fund in the governorates. They indicated that the fund’s support is support for all societies and rehabilitation centers in various aspects, calling on the concerned authorities to observe the fulfillment of the basic rights of this segment in various fields, pointing to the supervisory participation of Yemeni sports teams with special needs regionally and internationally. The Prime Minister affirmed that he is with all the ideas presented at the meeting, which serve this important social segment, pointing out that the government will give it the appropriate attention that preserves the dignity of these groups and work to develop their own rehabilitation programs. He pointed out that Minister Bin Dabaie, will present a comprehensive study on the various basic needs, for discussion by the Council of Ministers, on top of which is the imperative operational aspect. At the end of the meeting, the Prime Minister received the Loyalty Shield from the Handicapped Welfare and Rehabilitation Fund, in appreciation of his roles and patriotism, and in gratitude for his efforts towards people with special needs.
