The Republic Table Tennis Championship for the Deaf (men - women) opened today, Sunday, February 26, at the headquarters of the Federation.
With the participation of five governorates (Taiz - Dhamar - Amran - Sanaa - Al-Amanah)
The President of the Federation, Mr. Ahmed Al-Qamra, welcomed the inaugural speech by the attendees, pointing to the completion of all arrangements related to the tournament, which will start tomorrow, Monday, at Al-Ahly Club Hall - Sana'a, with a distinguished arbitration administration.
In his speech, Al Qamra indicated that the Federation is currently preparing to mobilize financial and technical support to set up training camps to participate in the Twenty-fourth Summer Olympics for the Deaf 2022, which will be held in Caxias do Sul - Brazil in May 2022.
Where Yemen will participate in the Olympics tournaments table tennis and athletics.
Mr. Kamal Al-Sharif, Assistant Undersecretary for the Sports Sector, gave a speech at the opening of the inauguration and praised the federation of various quality sports, and stressed that the ministry will give all its interests to the deaf sports segment and will work in providing support for the establishment of local, regional and international activities and championships.

And in the presence of Brother Abdel Wahab Al Hawani, Director General of Specific Activity, Ms. Fatima Al Shami, Deputy Activity and Supervisor of the Championship, Brother Abdullah Al Ansi, Financial Director of the Fund, Fahim Sultan Al Qudsi, Executive Director of the Yemeni Forum for Persons with Disabilities, and the media figure Mujib Qahtan and Marwan Al Jundi, head of the technical committee of the championship, as well as the teams participating in the championship, men - women.
It is worth noting that 25 elite table tennis players in the Republic will participate in the tournament, representing centers, clubs, and associations from five Yemeni governorates.
