The first Asian and Pacific Chess Championship for the Deaf opened today, Wednesday, in Amman, in the presence of the representative of the President of the Asia and Pacific Federation of Deaf Sports, the President of the Jordanian Federation of Deaf Sports, the representative of the Olympic Committee, the representative of the Royal Chess Federation, the head of the Referees Committee, and the presence of participating delegations from Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Iran and the UAE
and the co-host country (Jordan).
The competitions began at four o'clock in the afternoon in the rapid chess championship for men and women in the first round, and the second round began at five o'clock.
The results of the Yemeni team were as follows:
Men's first round
- The Yemeni player Yahya Al-Dhari loses to the Jordanian player Muhannad Gardeh
- Yemeni player Walid Hamedan loses to Jordanian player Issam Barghout
- Yemeni player Yasser Awad defeats Jordanian player Faisal Al-Khalila
Men's second round
- The Yemeni player, Yahya Al-Dhari, defeated the Emirati player, Hussam Khaled
- Yemeni player Walid Hamdan defeats Emirati player Bilal Al-Shehhi
- Yemeni player Yasser Awad loses to Jordanian player Mohammed Dawood
women's competition
first round:
- The loss of the Yemeni player Manal Al-Ashwal from the Saudi player Fatima Al-Amoudi.

- Yemeni Manal Al-Ashwal defeated Saudi player Rasha Abu Zaid.
