The Minister of Youth and Sports affirms support for the Deaf Sports Federation and the promotion of the participation of athletes with hearing impairments.

Minister of Youth and Sports Nayef Al-Bakri emphasized the importance of supporting the Yemeni Deaf Sports Federation and enhancing attention toward sports for the deaf. He highlighted the need to develop the capabilities of deaf athletes and empower them to participate in local and international sports competitions.

These remarks were made during a meeting with the Federation’s President, Ahmed Al-Qamra, and Vice President, Khaled Abadi Sheikh. The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary of the Sports Sector, Khaled Al-Khulaifi, and the Advisor to the Minister of Youth and Sports, Abdulhamid Al-Saeedi.

The discussion covered the current state of deaf sports, the Federation's needs, and ways to develop sports activities and programs. It also addressed enhancing support and care for athletes with hearing impairments, enabling them to cultivate their talents and increase their participation in sporting events.

Minister Al-Bakri stressed the importance of backing the Yemeni Deaf Sports Federation and elevating the standard of sports for the deaf. He underscored the necessity of integrated institutional efforts to create a supportive sports environment and boost the presence of deaf athletes within the Yemeni sports landscape.

This meeting is part of efforts to strengthen communication between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Yemeni Deaf Sports Federation, as well as to address issues and needs related to sports development and the empowerment of individuals with hearing impairments to exercise their right to participate in sports.
